We are trying to raise funds for SAMH in memory of Adam James. Adam took his own life in September as a result of depression and despite seeking support he was unable to cope. So we are endeavouring to celebrate his life. We take some solace from helping organisations like SAMH to help people with mental health problems, other support networks and those of us left behind. Like Hannah, Adam's wife, I, Adam's Dad, his mum Margaret and Matthew his brother are all coming to terms with this. But we want to celebrate and help others. He had a passion for music, especially live music, a good guitarist, and a regular subscriber to on line live gig. Ice hockey was another passion playing for a couple of clubs in Fife.

If you would like to help us celebrate Adam's life please help raise funding for SAMH. Please donate.

Adam was a very special guy, I met him 6 years ago through a shared love of Ice Hockey at the rink in Dundee. I can’t begin to describe what Adam meant to me as both a friend and confidant, he helped me up literally and figuratively when I was down and I’ll never forget him. He was a very special guy and will live on in the lives he touched. Love ya man

Words can’t explain how saddened I am by the loss of Adam. The kindest, most wonderful person I had the privilege to meet at University, and I’m even luckier that I got to call him a friend. The world is less bright without him.

Adam was a big part of our group of friends throughout secondary school. Witty and a love for music; I can only imagine him with a smile on his face. After many years of not seeing that group of friends in one place together, I had always imagined that we would all make it happen and reunite for an evening. I had always imagined that Adam would be there with his cheeky smile and I always looked forward to making that thought a reality. I have to get used to a different setup in my mind now. One where instead Adam's memory will be honoured with the good times that were had more than a decade ago. Memories that I am sure will be honoured whenever that group of friends manage to meet again each time going forward. You will be sorely missed, mate.

Adam was one of my closest and most trusted friends from pretty much the moment we first met in secondary school. He was thought of extremely fondly by everyone who knew him and he'll be sorely missed. I'm thankful for each and every memory that I have of him, he truly was one of the good ones.
